all i know, all i know...i'm the disco [infill]trator 4sho.

ok. so we have issues. how are we going to show them that we know about their shit. i find it very interesting that so many issues came to surface right before we all departed. i believe that they know that [ouryear] is a strong one. both in involvement and our "rock star" abilities to swoon the student body. therefore: a structured group of us need to take iniciative and speak for the body @ large.

-we have a short time to make impacts
-impacts must be swift and clean
-flyers, manifestos, full infiltration of our faculity governing body (Dsac, AIAs, NOMAS, ASAB, Dean Advisory Board, etc....)

what is our platform? get bloggin.

good job getting this izzle up and running,
now we just need some juices flowing.

first thing we need to do is get a group of people interested in change. hopefully more of you will post on here and we can get up and running even before we get back to the states. i've got a list of ideas of things that we need to do/make happen at home, so i will get them up here asap.

i do not know if we should do that yet, i think that we need to get OUR organization down first before we bring in the rest of the group. soon everyone will be biding for power and control and we will have no organization in OUR group and OUR ultimate goal will fail.

true, but i don't think that we are organized enough yet to have people on the front lines fighting...they would have no established generals and would be fighting in chaos w/out any clear commands and goals.

You guys are too disconnected. Keep your ideas roling out but you really need someone here to keep you posted on what's going on. Dsac, AIAs, NOMAS, ASAB, Dean Advisory Board, etc... what about this.

This is the most powerful of those groups, you know why. Its under the radar and you have a clear description of what's going on documented for everyone turned on to it to see.

yes i like under the radar and clean. but i think what was an idea was to get our hands in the realms of the powers that be. even if it's just one member...get active...report back to the group. because i don't feel like we know what the hell is going on..ever. the more we get into the mess the quicker we are able to react and stop what is not good for the student body.

I agree, I think involvement is important, but honestly how much are they going to tell us. Most stuff is personal and that affects the college more than most of the bureaucracy bullshit. Ie. Miller and Jones leaving, that hurts the college. How do we control that? You can't. Plus, I don't think design build almost bankrupting the college was good for the students either. I don't care if benefactors pulled out. Maybe they should have got the money up front, how's about that for ingenuity? Anyways, comments anyone? Oh, I don't think I have any idea what the hell is going on either... I just say what comes my way.

However much they tell us will be directly proportional to how much they care about our input; which in most cases is not much. The problem is that they know that we won't do anything if they hold out on us, because they know that we don't have any power over them - this is of course something that we are going to change next year and show them that it is OUR education and we are going to the ones in control of it.

i think we all underestimate how much pull we actually have. this is [OUR] education...and in saying that the department must inform us of all issues @ some level. and for them to decide means they have to have mtgs. and in those mtgs. they are required to have student reps...thus our input. our input has been minimal or non. this will change...we will make it change. what they don't want is a strong student voice...[WE] are the strong student voice...and [WE] will be heard. end.
